The Gigabit TAP debugger with Trace has all the features of the Gigabit TAP hardware debugger (see cwh-gtp-jtag-he for more information), but adds high-speed tracing.Only some freescale integrated circuits have tracking capabilities - see "support devices" for compatibility.
The tracing Gigabit TAP debugger connects to freescale devices via the Aurora SerDes communication channel. The card offers 2.5ghz and 3.125ghz frequencies and a choice of one or two channels, depending on the hardware circuit board. The card has 4 GB of RAM and can store a lot of tracking data in Nexus format.
The Gigabit TAP debugger with tracing function sends the collected trace data to the host workstation running CodeWarrior through Gigabit TAP debugger's Gigabit Ethernet connection.
The Nexus standard allows you to track standard JTAG signals on connectors (a 22-pin or 70-pin connector - see cwh-gtp-a2j22-ye for more information about these connectors). Therefore, if you have a 22 - or 70-pin Aurora connector and tracking card/cable, you do not need the JTAG debugger connector.
However, the trackable Gigabit TAP comes with Aurora cable and JTAG debugger connector to provide the target circuit board for both connectors.
Features
Gigabit TAP debugger is easy to use, can connect to the target system serial port, support remote access through Telnet serial port.Supports easy access to remote location systems via Gigabit TAP Ethernet connections. This feature also supports remote control of the u-boot program.
Supports all available kernel rates and voltages for freescale processors
Support debugging through JTAG interface
Automatic support for system voltages ranging from 1.8 V to 1.3V
With CodeWarrior development system, Gigabit TAP can:
During project debugging and development, program system flash memory, including the most popular flash memory, specifically all flash memory used with freescale development system
Control the target development system, even if the system crashes during development
You can see and control the entire system, including read/write CPU registers, memory mapping registers, memory block read/write, single-step debugging, setting hardware and software breakpoints, and monitoring the state of the target system
Controls the execution of the target system, including controlling one or all cores and resetting
High performance subcards can be added for non-mandatory real-time tracking (detailed in a separate data manual when supplied)
